Defense & Aerospace

Hiring engineers and program managers for defense and aerospace work.

Vantage is built for technical and program hiring at small and midsize defense and aerospace contractors, where a few people are hired at a time and each one matters.

The hiring environment

Technical roles, often hired by a manager with another job to do.

Smaller contractors run technical programs with lean teams, so hiring has to fit around the program and the person running it.

Little or no recruiting team

Many smaller contractors have a small recruiting team, or none at all. The hiring manager often runs the search alongside the program.

Managers carry the hire

The person hiring is often the person who will lead the new hire, and their time is one of the scarcest parts of the process.

Hard to judge on paper

Technical and program roles can be difficult to evaluate from a resume alone. What someone actually did matters more than the titles they held.

The customer sees the team

People who work with the customer shape how much confidence the customer has in the program.

Execution runs on people

Schedules, quality, and whether problems surface early enough to fix tend to come back to the people on the program.

A poor hire is expensive

It costs management attention and time the program may not have, often long before anyone decides to change course.

Why it matters commercially

This program becomes part of the record for the next one.

No hire guarantees any of this, and no tool can. The people on the program shape how it delivers.

Role-specific requirements

Some roles carry requirements of their own.

Depending on the role and the contract, that can mean US citizenship, a security clearance held on day one, or work with classified or export-controlled material. Where a role has requirements like these, they are set on the role from the start, and candidates state or attest to them as they apply. Vantage records what candidates state and what you confirm. It does not verify a clearance or anyone’s eligibility.
